How to Spend a Day in Chiswick

Chiswick has been on my list for a while and after visiting, I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to spend a day in this enchanting part of London. From the charming shops and cafes to the absolutely breathtaking green spaces, Chiswick has quickly become a new favorite neighborhood.

Here is everything I got up to during my time there!

Getting there

The main high street of Chiswick is a short walk from Turnham Green station.

I spent the rest of my day walking along the high street, down to Chiswick Mall, over to Chiswick House & Gardens, and then back to the station.

Foster Books

Obviously, the first thing I did when I arrived was find a bookshop. I’ve seen Foster Books on Pinterest for years, so I was slightly starstruck to see it in person!

It’s a gorgeous antique bookshop and I loved perusing all the vintage editions and old paintings of London.

Arcane Coffee

If you give a girl a bookshop, she’s going to want a coffee to go with it. I popped in to Arcane Coffee for an iced latte and panini and it was the perfect place to fuel up for the rest of my explorations.

I loved the quirky interiors too! If I had more time, I would have loved to sit and read there for a while.

Chiswick Mall

With a coffee in hand, I then set off to pick out my dream house along Chiswick Mall. This road has some of the most gorgeous homes in London that all have adorable private riverside gardens.

Chiswick House & Gardens

I spent the majority of my day exploring the beautiful grounds of Chiswick House. This historic home (and Bridgerton filming location!) has the most peaceful, expansive gardens - perfect for wandering and getting some fresh air. I brought my camera along and was snapping away every few seconds because everywhere I turned was just so beautiful!

This is also a very popular spot for people to bring their dogs, so chances are you’ll meet some new furry friends!

Hogarth House

A short walk from Chiswick House is Hogarth House, the historic home of the artist William Hogarth. This is a very small museum, but it has a really lovely garden.

Chiswick High Street

Then, I headed back to Chiswick High Street to do some shopping. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes, flower and produce stalls, and every popular high street brand you can imagine.

Matchado

After a long day of walking, I treated myself to a strawberry matcha latte from Matchado. This was so delicious and they had a lot of fun flavors that I need to go back and try!

I had such a lovely time in Chiswick! It felt like a little getaway from London without ever being too far from a tube station :)
