Autumn in London Bucket List
There’s nothing I love more than cozy season in London. As soon as chilly, autumn days arrive, all I want to do is walk around the city bundled up with a coffee in hand.
If you’re visiting during the autumn months, here are some of my recommendations for your London itinerary. You can find more of my London recommendations on this map.
See the autumn leaves in Regent’s Park
There are plenty of parks in London to see the turning leaves, but Regent’s Park is my favorite. Strolling through the long, tree-lined pathways is such a peaceful escape from the bustling city.
Surrounded by Baker Street, Marylebone, and Primrose Hill, a walk through Regent’s Park is the perfect addition to any autumnal day in London.
Bonfire Night
If you’re in London in early November, check out the Bonfire Night celebrations across the city. I’ve been to the festival at Alexandra Palace, which includes a food market, musicians, carnival rides, and a light show/firework display overlooking the London skyline.
Find your next read in a cozy bookshop
Chilly autumn days in London and getting lost in a good book are a match made in heaven. Stop by one of London’s many beautiful bookshops to pick up a new read. BookBar (in Chelsea and Finsbury Park) is the ultimate place to enjoy a new read with a coffee or a glass of wine.

Escape bad weather in a warm coffee shop
Autumn in London means lots of rain and wind. When you’re drenched from a day of exploring, find an inviting coffee shop to wait for the storm to pass.
The Queen’s Wood Cafe is absolutely magical this time of year, surrounded by autumn leaves. If you’re in Soho, Soderberg has great coffee and Scandinavian pastries with the coziest seating downstairs.

Wander around Lincoln’s Inn Fields
Autumn always makes me nostalgic for the beginning of the school year. Behind Holborn station, you’ll find the campus of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn Fields. This pristine collegiate square is the perfect place for an autumnal stroll to take in the beautiful architecture and academic atmosphere. I love just wandering here, but you can also book a tour to see the vast libraries and learn more about the school’s history.
Get a taste of autumn in the countryside in Richmond
Chilly, autumn days make me crave fresh air and some peace and quiet - which can be difficult to find in London! If you don’t have the time for a Cotswolds getaway, a visit to Richmond is a close second.
Peruse the quaint shops and linger in the cozy pubs around Richmond Green or spot a few deer among the changing leaves of Richmond Park. I’d also highly recommend a visit to Kew Gardens to see the autumn leaves from above on their Treetop Walk.
